Coolio enjoyed mainstream success in the mid to late 1990s with albums It Takes a Thief, Gangsta's Paradise and My Soul. He is known for his 1995 Grammy-winning single "Gangsta's Paradise", as well as other singles "Fantastic Voyage", "1, 2, 3, 4" and "C U When U Get There". He is also known for rapping the theme song for the Nickelodeon series Kenan & Kel in the late 1990s. Since then, Coolio has released the album independently and also became a chef, creating a web channel named Cookin 'with Coolio and posting a cookbook . Ivey was originally known as a member of the gangsta WC and Maad Circle rap groups along with WC and his brother, Crazy Toones.
